Dahlonega Georgia Free Content Day
By now you know when I opened up the photography studio Loft 33 in Dahlonega Georgia, I really had a vision for it to become a collaborative space that is used not only by me, but other photographers in the community and in the surrounding areas. So many people want you to believe that you need to be in competition with each other, but why would we do that when it is so much more fun to collaborate and create with each other?
I have had a few bookings from other photographers to use the studio, and I decided I needed to host some events to get the word out even more. I hosted a free editing night a couple months ago for local photographers, and I continued to think about other events. After I got through the busy Christmas rush, I decided to host a free event for local photographers with models and stylized sets.
I had no idea if this would be something people would be interested in or not, but I created the event anyways and let the link go live. To my surprise it filled up with a waiting list within minutes! So I knew I needed to make it extra special.
For models, I wanted a young family, a couple once the kids were finished, a pregnant mama, and an individual model. I reached out to a good friend who is having a baby very soon, a family who I worked with when I was first getting started as a photographer, and a young professional who I just did some headshots for. They all agreed, and I began to get to work on the sets.
In the front room I had a disco ball area, specialized flatlay materials by @helenlydesignco to photograph, and my now famous flower wall done by @lacey.creative.design. In the back room I set up an area with a couch, a dark black moody backdrop and lighting, the piano set, and the bedroom set.
All in all 11 photographers attended and we had an amazing time together. I broke up the photographers into groups, and they moved around to each set for 10 minutes over the course of 2 hours. It was so inspiring to see how each photographer worked and the different styles of photography that came out of so many different creatives!
Everyone seemed to enjoy their time together and a variety of different photography styled photos started being posted to social media almost immediately. I am already planning my next event in April for local photographers and the studio has already seen a huge rise in rental inquiries. When you are looking to book your Dahlonega Georgia photography space look no further than Loft 33 Studio located at 33 North Grove Street in Dahlonega Georgia!
